Javaher-Dasht Safari is a ride to the heart of jungle through the foggy roads to reach a high-altitude plain, called as Jordasht or Javaher-Dasht.
“Jor” means “high” in Gilaki dialect. The name Jordasht was eventually changed to Javaher-Dasht (meaning the plain of jewels); a befitting name as Jordasht shines like a jewel in the hillsides of Somamus Mountain.
Javaher-Dasht position: Eastern Guilan, between Kelachay and Chaboksar cities, on Siahkalroud road.
Distance and duration of Javaher-Dasht Safari:
About 20 Km (30 minute) drive through paved road followed by about 20 Km (1 hour) drive through mountainous road in the middle of the jungle
The dirt road now get asphalted but has many puddles, get ready for an exciting jeep ride!
Javaher-Dasht Safari available programs:
- 1-Day program: Leaving Gileboom early in the morning in off-road vehicles or old jeeps, walking for 2-3 hours in the jungle and around Javaher-Dasht , eating local food, taking a stroll in the hillsides and returning to Gileboom in the afternoon.
- 1.5-Day program (A): Leaving Gileboom after breakfast in off-road vehicles or old jeeps, strolling in the jungle, eating local food for lunch, taking a short rest, walking in Javaher-Dasht , having local dinner and sleeping in rural houses. Next day: having breakfast including local bread and fresh diary, returning to Gileboom before noon.
- 1.5-Day program (B): Leaving Gileboom in off-road vehicles or old jeeps in the afternoon, strolling in the jungle, eating local food for dinner and sleeping in rural houses. Next day: having breakfast including local bread and fresh diary, walking in Javaher-Dasht , eating lunch and returning to Gileboom.
